Product Overview

ATLab developed optical navigation algorithm second in the world. Its optical mouse sensor provides various functions for optical mice to guarantee optimal operating environment during office work, web surfing or gaming. It is able to find the track of the mouse very accurately by complete 2D motion sensing technology, one of logical search engines.

2D motion sensing technology, ATLab¡¯s proprietary motion detection technology, consists of Image Acquisition System (IAS) reading images from the surface reflecting light, ADC converting images from IAS to logical signals and Motion Vector Finder (MVF) calculating magnitude and direction with mouse movement. Therefore, this 2D motion sensing technology enables to find motion perfectly even if users move the mouse in fast speed.

The key characteristic in ATLab¡¯s optical mouse sensor is to be designed by system level architecture hence it integrates lots of components within a chip for complete mouse functionality. For example, SoC devices such as PS/2 1-chip device or USB, PS/2 combo device which include MCU within a chip don¡¯t need external processors for the connection with PC, which will reduce BOM and design complexity.
